Today, I'm working on creating a comprehensive list of tags for our Tumblr page. This is helpful for any youth who is searching for specific information on a specific topic. If, for example, a youth were looking for resources on coming out at bisexual, this youth should have access to information about how to do this, what to expect, and have visibility of the process in order to "normalize" the situation. Said youth would be able to come to the YPI Tumblr page, go to the Navigation page, and then click on this links that say "coming out" or "bisexual". These links would then pull out specific posts from the tumblr which I have tagged as relevant to these issues.
This is hugely helpful when youth are looking for information about their own situations, or just looking to connect with others of a similar orientation and identity. By doing this, I am not only making it easier for youths to find what they are looking for, but also connecting with others who can offer more support.
The goal with this project is to make the YPI tumblr a major site of traffic for LGBTQ+ oriented youth who are looking for resources, as well as to promote the space in an environment that is geared towards youths of said orientations.
